Starting here

Every blog starts with an empty page, so let me use this one to say what I hope to fill it with.

I'm an AI software engineer. Day to day I build AI-driven systems at Harness: the kind of work where a clever idea only matters if it survives contact with a real pipeline, a real customer, a real 2 a.m. incident. I love that constraint. It keeps me honest.

But the projects I'm proudest of point somewhere slightly different. At UIUC I worked on ScribeAR, real-time captions built so a classroom could be accessible to everyone in it. I built an indoor navigation system that uses computer vision and voice to help blind and visually impaired people move through spaces the rest of us take for granted. The thread there isn't the technology: it's who the technology is for. I want to keep pulling on that thread.

So this blog will wander between a few things: the engineering I do and the accessibility work I care about, the AI and machine learning I'm learning in public, honest reflections on career decisions (including the unconventional ones: I left an MBA program to take a job I couldn't say no to), and the place I find endlessly interesting, where technology and finance meet.

I don't know exactly what the archive will look like a year from now. That's part of why I'm writing. If any of this resonates, follow along, and feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to meet people building things.
